Today at Comfest I tested my camera and my ability to tape while directing my wheelchair. It works great I must say. The wheelchair allows me to tape pretty much jiggle free, sort of like having a video dolly on the set of a movie. Last night I had the idea for this blog, well actually my partner had the idea. Now that I have a video camera it will work perfectly.
My intent for this blog is to document through video and words exactly what it's like to use a wheelchair. Why I think most people are well-meaning but suck most of the time anyway and why I think anyone who uses a wheelchair full-time deserves a medal of honor.
Like it or not this my blog and I'll say what I want.

Oooo. If you can come to BlogHer in Chicago it might be so awesome!
I am imagining now how neat it would be to have short video clips of the crazy things people say & then analyze how rude they are.
whats BlogHer? Keep watching my blog, I'm uploading some footage of an encounter I had with my Service Dog and a self-righteous self-proclaimed "animal rights activist"
g'day and good to meet you!
River
ok, I now know what BlogHer is. CRA* I have an art show that weekend. CHi isn't that far either.
Definitely next year and definitely will watch the live blogging when I can.
Very cool that you can videotape from your power wheelchair - welcome to blogging and thx for your comment at a different light .
I enjoyed your blog - looking forward to more posts.
great blog! i think all the time about how things look from jack's perspective...he's still refusing to use a wheelchair, but he did try out a sit-to-stand chair the other day... he liked being able to stand and do donuts!!
